Why Does Everyone Answer Questions Here “You Need Counseling” or “You Need a Doctor”?

Question by Just Me Being Me: Why does everyone answer questions here “you need counseling” or “you need a doctor”?
DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND, I get how useful and helpful a therapist can be and I get how sometimes there are medical conditions that need a doctor’s review but what happened to hard work? What happened to putting in the effort to make things work and putting yourself out of your comfort zone? What happened to honesty and truth and reality?

Have people (in general) become so weak that they need someone to hold their hand all the time and tell them their special?
Some worse than others but we all have issues and we all have problems…why can’t people roll up their sleeves and do it themselves anymore?
sheloves_dablues- I disagree. I think they just don’t want to face the truth and they don’t want to put in the effort.

Bella- You’re right in saying that there’s nothing wrong with seeking help but not everyone needs to seek help.
WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY IS: If you rate a problem from 1- 10 (with 10 being the hardest), people used to be able to handle up to a 9 for instance without therapy. These days, problems 4 or higher needs therapy.

If they were capable of just doing it themselves, they wouldn’t be posting here. They’d have solved their own problems.

Because people are complex beings.

And, rather than giving damaging wrong advice – why not suggest they get help?
Is it wrong that if someone is overwhelmed by circumstances, life and other things – they want someone to listen?

Often, a therapist just listens, while they talk out loud and sort their thoughts – it can be that simple.

Would you deny someone a ‘sounding board’ ?

Actively seeking help is also a form of hard work, with or without rolled up sleeves.
