The DEA website would be a good one. Also law enforcement statistics would help you as well as prison population numbers. If you speak a foreign language that may help as well, especially spanish since that would let you read up on what’s going on in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and all those countries.

Question by Maricopa County: Will activists blame Americans for this and why is there drug rehab in MEXICO activists said MEXICANS did not?
Will activists blame Americans for this and why is there drug rehab in MEXICO activists said MEXICANS did not ever use drugs and this is why the drugs come here ?CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — At least 30 gunmen burst into a drug rehabilitation center in a Mexican border state capital and opened fire, killing 19 men and wounding several others, police said.

The killings happened late Thursday at the Faith and Life center in Chihuahua city, about 210 miles (350 kilometers) south of Ciudad Juarez and the border with El Paso, Texas, said state police spokesman Fidel Banuelos.

They came a day after unidentified assailants killed one man and wounded another at a rehab center in Ciudad Juarez.

The men at the Faith and Life center were roused out of bed shortly before 11 p.m. and placed face-down along a hallway, the center’s director, Cristian Rey Ramirez, told The Associated Press.

Ramirez was alerted to the attack by the center’s pastor by telephone.

“He tells me, ‘You know what, come here because they just killed everyone,'” Rey said. “There was no warning.”

The attackers left messages accusing the victims of being criminals, Banuelos said.

Four other people were hospitalized but their conditions were not immediately known.

The victims ranged in age from 30 to 40, and included a blind man, said the Rev. Rene Castillo, a minister who gives weekly sermons at the center.

“Everyone is so scared now,” he said, adding that violence is “all everyone talks about, especially with all the threats that have been made.”

President Felipe Calderon, whose war on drugs has claimed nearly 23,000 lives since he took office in late 2006, issued a statement Friday condemning the shootings.

“They are outrageous acts that reinforce the conviction of the need to fight criminal groups who carry out such barbaric acts with full legal force,” he said.

Police have said that two of Mexico’s six major drug cartels are exploiting rehab centers to recruit hit men and drug smugglers, often threatening to kill those who don’t cooperate. Others are killed for failing to pay for drugs or betraying a dealer.

More than 60 people have died in mass shootings at rehab clinics in a little less than two years.

Answer by Country Gal
funny, alias king thinks him and his alias are not an activist for illegal criminals. lmfao. We know they try to cover up all crimes done by illegals. They don’t care how many Americans are killed or hurt by these people. Only concern is with the illegal and getting amnesty as you see a good point here. Makes you wonder if this illegal uses this many alias in real life.

Question by Yadally J: Drugs victims?
Are there any best solution for drugs victim to intergrate in their real life

Best answer:

Answer by KC V
I don’t believe there is any ONE best solution for a “drug victim” to make their life better. It takes more than one avenue of approach to abstain from some drugs on the street.

Families need to pull together and provide comfort, strength, courage, and support!

Neighbors need to report suspicious activities that draw drug dealers to the area.

Churches need to reach out to the community to “raise the village.”

Schools need to provide current and up to date information concerning illegal drug use and the effects of drug abuse.

The term “war on drugs” is outdated and should more appropriately be referred to as “a cancer on society.”

Just my humble opinion!

Drugs Victims?

Do you mean someone that is addicted to drugs or some one that has had their life affected by another’s drug use?

Either way, their are in-patient and out-patient treatment centers for both. Their are also lots of support groups.

Look in your phone book for both.

Question by Just My Luck: Basic questions about the War on Drugs?
I’m trying to study for a course and I’m watching a documentary “American Drug War: The Last White Hope.” I’m not getting any specifics to answers my questions though. Does anyone have any quick answers to these questions?

oHow is the ‘war on drugs’ a war on the poor?
oHow is the ‘war on drugs’ a race war?
oWho benefits from the ‘war on drugs’? How?
oWho suffers most from the ‘war on drugs’? How?

I’m thinking
The war on drugs is a war on the poor because the richer in society can afford their addictions and therefore hide it well: possible bribes, don’t end up living on the street, prostitution, etc.
The rich benefit as addictions to legal drugs- such as alcohol and drugs- and the higher end rich companies own these companies and therefore profit from peoples addictions.

I know it doesn’t all have to do with legal drugs…but this video is really interesting but not giving me the answers I need.

1. People that are addicted to drugs, but can’t afford rehab suffer. They don’t really have a choice because addiction is a medical chronic disease, so their free will is compromised. So they keep on doing the drugs and don’t have thousands of dollars, so they can get the treatment they deserve, so they lock them up instead. This is the number one reason why jails are full and real criminals get off, while the drug user rots in prison.

2. I believe that blacks and Latinos are much more likely to get searched, stopped and harassed by the cops. Therefore they are more likely to get arrested.

3. The drug dealers and gangs benefit from drugs being illegal. If every drug was legalized, then drug dealers would be put out of business. Gangs would also lose a lot of power.

4. People that are hopelessly addicted suffer the most from the war on drugs.

ADD: They also have legal synthetic drugs out now. One popular drug is Mephedrone. They also have bath salts and other drugs. Its legal because they get around the law by calling it something else and changing the formula. These drugs are even more dangerous.
