If your emotional state is causing you to overdose and throw up, and cut yourself, you do need to see a doctor to find out what is causing it. The doctor will try to find out what is causing it and fix the problem.
Please, talk to a doctor.

Answer by Mod Allice
Honey you need to tell your parents or a doctor or call 911 if you have to but the doctors can help and the hospital won’t strap you down to a bed and you won’t have to try to escape. You are on a one way street to suicide and no one wans that for you sweetie. You need some help don’t be afraid of it. God Bless You

If you are unable to work…you may look into going on short term
disability with your company you work for. This can turn into
long term disability, if needed. It depends if they had a disability
plan that you paid into or your employer did. If you cannot work,
you may be able to try and sign up for Social Security disability
at the Social Security office. IF you are very low income…you
may also apply for SSI and Medicaid.

You need to be seeing a gastroenterologist or hepatologist now.
No patient is usually turned away at any emergency room. If
you are low income, then talk to them about whether you can
work something out to pay or if they have lower cost payments
because the government funds them to help people out.

There is a group on the web for Cirrhosis patients.
They are dear people who are willing to help each other:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/livercirrhosissupport/?

The liver makes bile, which flows through tube like structures,
known as ducts. Bile contains a pigment known as
Bilirubin. It is a greenish/brownish substance. Bile flow from
the liver to the gallbladder and from the gallbladder into
the common bile duct to the intestines. Bile emulsifies the
fat we eat so that it can be digested and absorbed.
If the bile/bilirubin is not reaching the intestines, then the
bowel movement will appear lighter in color to almost a
grayish white. Different thing can cause a blockage of
a bile duct: a growth, stone moving into it from the
gallbladder, malformation of the ducts, an infection.
However, if tthe liver cells are damaged and cannot
convert the bilirubin into a soluble form to become
part of the bile…this will also cause the bowel movement
to lose color.

You definitely need to see the physician as soon as possible.

Hope this has been of some help. Best wishes

Question by Jessica MMM: my son VOLUNTARILY admitted himself into rehab 3 years ago, does this exclude him from posessing a foid card?
he was 16 at the time, it was not court ordered and the firearms owner act is poorly worded they do not define “mental health facility” as a rehabilitation center and on the application says it’s a felony to falsely admit info. so what im wondering is since he was self mandated, received no physiciatric care while staying, and also was never banned by a professional that he is not able to obtain a FOID card. so does this mean he’s still eligible because he loves hunting and is looking toward getting a rifle.

Best answer:

Answer by screamyourheartout
i don’t think it makes any difference whether it was voluntary or not. he still went to rehab

if i were you, i would check with someone. there should be a contact number or something like that on the foid application form, or online if you google it. ring them and ask if that counts as a mental health facility

Answer by StealthBeast
I’m pretty sure it’s okay. They intentionally make exception for the word voluntary so you don’t have to choose between necessary help and constitutional rights…

Sad really, that you need to worry about this.

But neither my answer nor the guy above me is qualified to answer. I think you need to ask someone more locally, and officially like the police, that way if the police it’s okay, get that in writing… If stuff goes south, you’ll have covered your bases.

Good luck.

Question by : Can the uninsured and unemployed go to alcohol rehab too?
Ok, I am 20 years old now and I am no longer in denial of being an alcoholic. I realize it now. My life is so messed up and I want to change before things get even worse. The only problem is that now I am jobless again due to my alcoholism and I am close to broke. Do rehabs accept people with no insurance or a job even? Thank you…..

Dear One, Congratulations on your epiphany!!! You will have a great life being sober. I know of only one place to go and that is Salvation Army. They help you in every way possible. Be open, willing and honest, and all will be given to you. I am so proud of you! Take good care.

Answer by Nigam
You know my name, I am an alcoholic. I have been sober for over 9 years. When I was in Chicago, what happened to you, happened to me. I went to the South Suburban Center for Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. They did not require money or for me to be employed.Their only requirement, in a manner of speaking, was that I had admitted to myself that I was an alcoholic, that my goal was to become sober, and then remain sober. It was a very good rehabilitation center. Now, the U.S. is a huge country. I don’t know where you live. I am sure you can find a rehabilitation center which understands your difficulties. The way to go about finding this out is:
1. Contact Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) on their toll free number.
2. If you are willing to, go to AA meetings.
3. Please do not think that I am even remotely suggesting that you are “crazy”, but the local or community mental health centers can be sometimes a big help.
4. If you cannot travel anywhere for lack of funds, do ask yourself this question: “Can I become sober without going to a rehabilitation center?” My answer would be:”Yes, you most certainly can.” It is good to be with people who have the same problem as we do, but is not a requirement. That is of course my opinion.
5. Last suggestion, go to the website: www.about.com, choose Alcoholism, go to chat rooms. They are decent people. You will not feel uncomfortable chatting with them, asking questions and so on.
You already taken the first step according to AA, which is admitting. You have courage. You WILL make it. Take it one day at a time. If you are a believer, God bless you, if not ignore me.
The reason I am doing this is because in atleast some ways I owe my sobriety to some exceptional people from AA. I always remember that, as a result I would like to help anyone who asks for help, even though I am some 10,000 miles away from you, in India.
