Question by the MaRK: Was Obama serious when he said we need to extend unemployment payments for another year?
Quote from today’s Washington Times: “States that borrowed billions from Washington to cover skyrocketing unemployment payouts during the recession are now cutting benefits, adding fees, and in some cases, increasing taxes on employers in order to get the cash to repay the loans.”
There are lots of people out there who’ve been looking for work for a year or two, even three. While I feel for their plight, where is the money for the extension going to come from?
Well here’s a shocker, nobody knows where the money is going to come from, me either.

Question by usa_jcrew68: Can you think of some ideas on how we can prevent school shootings?
The VA Tech massacre, the Columbine killings, and countless other school shootings has created fear and paranoia in the our schools and society. We realized since 911 anything devastating can happen at any moment. The VA tech incident (even though it wasnt terrorist related)has created a a higher “awareness” in our society. I think gun control, random drug testing, and mental health testing should be the norm in all institutions.
List some other reasonable ideas that can prevent a shooting like this from occuring again?

Arm the students and faculty. Banning guns from schools just creates unarmed victims at the mercy of someone who doesn’t obey the gun ban.

Question by FAITH: How come people on government assistance are not subject to a drug test before and while receiving benefits?
Our tax dollars are paying for a lot of people’s drug addictions. I know here in California, most people on welfare are also on some type of drug abuse. They will take the General Relief money and Food Stamps and feed their drug habit instead of the kids. I believe they should all be subject to drug testing to receive benefits from our tax money and continue with unannounced drug testing to continue to receive payments. We the tax payers have a right to where the money is going.

I think it’d be a lot cheaper and easier to 1) get rid of welfare, especially long-term welfare, and 2) make drugs legal.

I think WI just got tougher. WI has a good gov. currently, and he’s hated by the socialists. The socialist left think Government is infringing on the rights of the poor if they have to produce an ID or get a drug test. Idiots!
I agree with the first guy as well. Legalize them all for the sake of freedom.
